Karen is a journalist and Senior News Editor at BBC Wales and looks after BBC Wales’ current affairs unit which produces a range of content including an investigative strand of 30 & 60 min films, called Wales Investigates. She is an Executive Producer on two podcast series; Shreds: Murder in the Dock which tells the shocking story of a notorious miscarriage of justice, following the murder of 20 year old Lynette White on Valentine’s day in 1988 and Aberfan: Tip Number 7 which follows the tragic story of the disaster, as it unfolds, and documents the years of injustice felt by bereaved families and the local community. Karen is helping to Exec Produce a third podcast series on the last man hanged in Cardiff prison - Mahmood Mattan - whose conviction was quashed in 1998. The series is due to launch in September. She was also an Executive Producer on a three part (3 x 60) docs for BBC network called A Killing in Tiger Bay. It followed the successful podcast Shreds: A Murder In The Dock. Her team are currently working on a fourth series of programmes following the work of Gwent Police’s forensic investigators; Crash Detectives, which aired on BBC Wales and has run on BBC 1. She has also Exec Produced a number of programmes for Panorama.
