Justin has been the Commissioning Executive for BBC Northern Ireland for more than six years, during which time he has been executive producer across a range of genre from documentaries, specialist factual, features, arts, obs-doc, drama as well as comedy, entertainment and fact-ent programmes.
In addition to a long list of credits for independently produced local programmes for BBC NI from all major suppliers, Justin he has delivered a number of significant projects in co-production with network BBC or other broadcasters: including BAFTA nominated Patrick Kielty: My Dad, The Peace Deal and Me, Grierson winner – Wild Ireland, other major factual projects include Border Country, Bobby Sands: 66 Days and Beauty Queen and Single Justin also oversees BBCNI’s highly acclaimed single documentary strand True North, which provides a supply line to the network strand Our Lives.
Justin also commissions and EP’s firm audience comedy favourites like The Blame Game, Soft Border Patrol and Give My Head Peace. More recently he has overseen drama talent development and production scheme New Perspectives which delivered two new local dramas Counsel and Ups & Downs.
Working with the independent sector, in-house production and co-producers, Justin runs BBC Northern Ireland’s commissioning and development slate across all general programmes and is BBC Northern Ireland’s first point of contact for the submission and commissioning of new ideas and proposals.
